More Capacity, Higher Density, Unparalleled Reliability

Western Digital is a leading storage solutions provider for the top companies around the world. They announced their newest addition to their HDD lineup: a 22TB model for Western Digital Hard Drives Red Pro, Purple Pro, Gold, and Ultrastar. Each of Western Digital’s HDDs comes equipped with OptiNAND technology for capacity-enabling features. And we at Exxact are offering Western Digital storage systems. Added storage is a step in the right direction for HDDs in a space where NVMe SSDs and cloud storage are becoming the norm.

Western Digital Colors and Specs

The WD Red Pro, Purple Pro, Gold, and Ultrastar HDDs are all receiving 22TB options to expand your storage infrastructure. Each of these drives features the same 10-platter 3.5-inch drive with HelioSeal and ePMR for high capacity reliability and triple stage actuators for high track density. They all run at 7200 RPM and house 512MB of cache.

  • WD Red Pro Hard Drive: Designed for RAID configured NAS systems and storage servers of up to 24 bays optimized for multi-tenant environments running 24/7.
  • WD Purple Pro Hard Drive: Designed for video and surveillance server drives of up to 64 single stream HD cameras with AllFrame AI supporting 32 AI streams for deep learning.
  • WD Gold Hard Drive: Top-of-the-line HDDs for data center servers and workstations for storing large datasets with the highest security and safest provisions.
  • Western Digital Ultrastar Hard Drive: True enterprise-level HDD for similar data center applications as WD Gold but with options SATA or SAS drive.

Western Digital is proud of its newest releases with more capacity for denser infrastructure. Populate your 24-bay NAS with WD Red Pro for up to 528TB of usable remote storage. Increase your video surveillance density with WD Purple Pro. Spring for WD Gold, the channel alternative to Ultrastar, for smaller-scale users looking to build a server solution with an enterprise-grade product. Western Digital Ultrastar has the highest density and highest speed, with less rack space, and less waiting to reduce your TCO. Worry less, and store more with Western Digital.

Availability

22TB models for the WD Red Pro, Purple Pro, and Gold are all available for purchase directly from Western Digital or from Exxact, whereas Ultrastar HC570s are only purchasable through Western Digital providers like Exxact, at the moment.
